SUTHERLAND AVE CORRIDOR

Sutherland.jpg

MHM was excited to contribute to the Charette focusing on a 10-acre area located between Sutherland Avenue and Division Street. The concept was driven by the desire to create a connection from the existing Third Creek greenway to John Tarleton Park by introducing recreational activities on an urban scale. The project attempts to recalibrate the mix and scale of occupancies along the Eastern end of the corridor to better serve the area’s existing inhabitants.

EAST TENNESSEE COMMUNITY DESIGN CENTER’S ANNUAL SUMMER PARTY

It’s time for the East Tennessee Community Design Center’s annual . This year is special because the event is part of a larger Community Collaborative started by the Design Center that joins the AIA, UT school of Architecture, Knox Heritage, Keep Knoxville Beautiful, the Mayor’s Maker Council, City of Knoxville, and the ETCDC. The goal is to bring awareness to the potential in our communities and create a positive momentum for change. The event will be held in newly renovated buildings in Burlington but will showcase numerous locations in the community through a neighborhood tour. The event will also feature an exhibit of Burlington-based work from the UT College of Architecture, the AIA Design Slam, and the ETCDC Community Plan. This is a great way to help the Design Center bring awareness to this up and coming area and give back to Knoxville in a fun and enlightening way. Visit to buy your tickets or receive more information on how to participate.
