PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Elkmont Exchange project took a neglected property on one of Knoxville’s most prominent arteries and created a landmark for the city. The triangulated wood screen wall applied to the outside was inspired by the original Elkmont topography. The warm, dynamic design turned an existing, non-descript, CMU building into an attractive icon for North Knoxville.
The exterior patio, terraces, and landscaped entrances displayed custom firepits, treetrunk tables, and metal water features. These elements brought a stylish urban garden experience into the heart of the city.
The interior had a casual sophistication that embodied modern rustic refinement. While the building, beer, and food were fabulous, the project was designed to serve a larger purpose for Knoxville.
