The Murfreesboro Housing Authority (MHA) Oakland Court redevelopment project included a 76-unit public housing neighborhood on approximately 20 acres between North Academy and Maney Avenues in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The New Urbanist master plan called for 150 new MHA rental homes to be a mixture of single-family, duplex, and triplex homes. The 76 homes at Oakland Court were replaced in Phase I and another 74 homes were added in Phase II.

Overall improvements to the neighborhood include new streets, street trees and lighting, rear parking courts, walking trails, an elegant pergola structure, a new community building for resident events, and an MHA onsite office. An open green space park extending into the neighborhood provides a new entry to Oakland Park.

This redevelopment not only respects the historic character of the neighborhood but also integrates the beautiful adjacent Oaklands Mansion and Park, enhancing the living experience for residents and creating a destination for surrounding communities and visitors alike. The project stands as a testament to thoughtful urban planning and community revitalization, highlighting the importance of preserving historical integrity while fostering modern living spaces.
